Fatigue and facilities charter
Junior doctors committee Recent achievements to make your working life better Fatigue and facilities charter Shared parental leave Improved record sharing The JDC (junior doctors committee) stands up for the rights of all junior doctors on education, training and contractual issues. The JDC negotiates on your behalf to shape your work and training for the better. Fatigue and facilities charter In 2019, and in response to BMA lobbying, the Government announced a £10 million investment for upgrading or installing rest areas or other facilities to improve the working lives of junior doctors. Each of the 210 trusts in England has received a minimum of £30,000. Shared parental leave Since 1 April 2019, shared parental pay in England has been enhanced to the same levels as occupational maternity and adoption pay, meaning new parents can make a decision based on what is best for them. Improve record sharing The way employment, occupational health and statutory and mandatory training records are shared is being improved across all trusts in England. This ‘streamlining’ means HEE will inform all junior doctors of their placements 12 weeks in advance of starting, with this data then transferred from HEE’s trainee information system to trusts and stored in electronic staff records.
