Name of a short story or chapter of a book Name of a TV program Title of a poem Headline of an article or title of a report Title of a song title of a novel name of a movie title of a collection of poetry or an epic poem name of a magazine or newspaper title of a musical or long musical composition name of a ship, plane, train, etc.

3 Underline/Italics Words as words:
The word food always brought a smile to his face. Emphasis: I have never seen anyone so fond of music. When a word and its definition appear in a sentence, the work is placed in italics (or underlined) and the definition is in quotation marks: The words ingress means “entrance.”

4 Titles without underlining or quotes:
Do not underline or place in quotation marks the Bible or other holy scriptures or the titles of government charters, alliances, treaties, acts, statues or reports. Examples: the Bible, the Koran, the Talmud The Constitution, the Magna Carta.
