4 Pinellas Pathways – Choose your Path
Advanced Scholar Pathway - This includes a rigorous level of required and elective courses that best prepare students seeking admittance to competitive four-year universities. College Pathway (Scholar Designation) - This includes a rigorous level of required and elective courses that best prepare students for entry into a college or four year university. Technical/College Pathway (Merit Designation) - This offers the opportunity for students to challenge themselves in elective areas of interest, earn nationally recognized industry certifications, and pursue entry into a post-secondary technical school or state college. Circle your pathway on the top of your course selection sheet.

5 Acceleration Plan Pass an AP Exam Pass a certification test
It is our expectation that by the time you graduate, you are college and career ready. Students have 3 options to meet this goal. Circle which goal you have: Pass an AP Exam Pass a certification test Pass a dual enrollment course

6 Optional Accelerated Programs
AP Capstone / Collegiate AP Capstone / Traditional Collegiate Traditional

7 Quality Points – Weighted GPA
Because some classes are more difficult, rely more heavily on tests, or demand more assignments than others, they also have a *quality point* attached to them. Quality points affect your weighted GPA. Honors classes - .5 quality points AP and Dual Enrollment classes – 1.0 quality points

8 Examples of how Quality Points can help or harm….
An A in an AP class = 5.0 GPA An A in an honors class = 4.5 GPA An A in a regular class = 4.0 GPA Example 2 A C in an AP class = 3.0 GPA A B in an honors class = 3.5 GPA Moral of the story? Only choose AP and honors classes that you have a proven history of performing well in.
