Naming note: IFMIF: International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility ENS: Early Neutron Source DONES: DEMO Oriented NEutron Source Plant conceived in the 90’s to respond to the need of a Fusion –like neutron source. Need update to adapt to the relaxed specifications required by Early DEMO in terms of intensity Selected option among three alternatives proposed to respond the ENS needs. It is an IFMIF-like plant with some simplifications but easily upgraded to a complete IFMIF. Facility for materials irradiation under neutros spectrum similar to DEMO (other possible applications under study) The main objective is the obtention of information of materials behaviour under fusion-like irradiation conditions Cutting edge technologies involved First conceptual design conceived in the 90’s Presently activities are focused in the design with an engineering approach with the objective to define tech. Spec. for launching contracts from 2020 (site requirements included) Construction activities should start soon after 2020.
