Anthropology New undergraduate coordinator, Dr. Sandra Wheeler (replacing Dr. Stacy Barber) New courses added to area study and restricted elective options for Anthropology BA: ANT3176 African Archaeology and Prehistory ANT4189 Lithic Analysis: Archaeology of Stone Tools Refreshed lists of restricted electives for all minors.

Reminder: Last year, Anthropology introduced the Anthropological Methods and Practice Track in addition to the General track. This year the new track has additional choices to meet core requirements.

Forensic Science Biochemistry track
Restricted elective hours changed from 5 to 6 Chemistry track Restricted elective hours changed from 8 to 13 NIJ = National Institute of Justice NCJ = National Criminal Justice (Reference Service) Reference is from NIJ Special Report “Education and Training in Forensic Science: A Guide for Forensic Science Laboratories, Educational Institutions, and Students”

Sociology All Minors in Sociology Department
Removed minimum course grade of “C” requirement Each requires 2.0 GPA over all courses used to meet requirements

Statistics Actuarial Science Minor (21 hours)
Students must have completed ACG 2021, MAC2311C, 2312, and as well as STA2023 and 4321 prior to enrolling in courses for the minor. No longer requiring ECO 2013, STA 4163 and 4164, or STA 4322 BEFORE beginning the minor though ECO 2013 and STA 4322 are now required courses of the minor as of 2019. These revisions are a response to changes in Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) and exam requirements instituted by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).

Prerequisite Changes to Some Key Courses
MAC2312 Calculus II: PR: Grade of "C" (2.0) or better in MAC 2311C, or credit by exam equivalency for MAC2311C, or C.I. Change: a score of 5 is no longer required for AP Calculus AB credit = MAC2311C to enroll in MAC2312. PCB3044 Ecology: PR/CR: ((PR: CHM 2045 or CHM 2041) or CR: CHM 2041) and a "C" (2.0) or better in both BSC 2010C and BSC 2011C. Change: CHM2041 can be taken concurrently with PCB3044; was prerequisite prior to 2019.
