5 minutes PREPARATION Get the room ready for painting: Put newspaper on the desks Collect a half-filled water pot Collect a palette Collect brushes Open your final design in your book Get you maquette from the side

Learn how to use readimix paints to finish the 3D maquette. Learn to work in groups and to share ideas about the successes of their final designs. Learn to work collaboratively to create a list of ideas for their tribe mask design. What I’m looking for… You are able to mix the accurate colours using redimix paints necessary to complete your maquette. You work cooperatively in groups and you have the ability to share the success of your designs and identify areas of success in other people’s designs. You can make a list of ideas ready to design your group tribe mask.

4 You now have the chance to neatly paint your mask maquette.
40 minutes You now have the chance to neatly paint your mask maquette. Start with the paler colours first and work towards the darker colours. Put all the final details on at the very end, i.e. any markings and any decorative elements. 4

5 You will now be placed into
5 minutes You will now be placed into TRIBAL GROUPS And these will be the people you will work together with to make your group tribal mask. 5

6 5 minutes Take out your individual FINAL DESIGNS and together, make a list of all the successful parts of each design – you must include something from each mask. 6

7 PREP.WORK PREP.WORK WK6 Using the list of mask features which you have made with your tribal group, create at least 3 initial idea sketches for the group design. These should all fit onto 1 page and be in LINE ONLY.

8 5 minutes Turn to the back of your sketchbook, look at the learning objectives from the start of the lesson, tick each statement to indicate how confident you feel you have met each one (fully, partially, not at all). Learning Objectives You will: Learn how to use readimix paints to finish the 3D maquette. Learn to work in groups and to share ideas about the successes of their final designs. Learn to work collaboratively to create a list of ideas for their tribe mask design.
