MELAtrace® System requirements. Installation. Licensing.
2
MELAtrace® System requirements
Operating system: Win Vista SP2, Win 7 SP1, Win 8, Win 10, Win Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2012 Processor: min. 1 GHz (x86) / 1,4 GHz (x64), recommended 2 GHz Multi-Core User memory: min. 1 GB, recommended 4 GB Free memory: min. 7 GB Drive: DVD-drive or USB storage device Software: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.5, SQL Express 2012 Optional: MELAprint 60 for label printing, Barcode-scanner
3
MELAtrace® Installation
MELAtrace Computer all available Windows updates were installed Windows was already rebooted after updating administration rights for software installation all MELAtrace users will use one computer “account” afterwards Internet access mandatory required for installations on WIN8 and Win10 systems Internet access for software support via TeamViewer
4
MELAtrace® Installation
MELAtrace MELAG device Select correct output medium ( computer, external pc ) Immediate output -> yes Graphic logs -> yes Configuration of correct ip addresses Choosing of correct way for log transfer ( FTP=0 or TCP=1 ) Premium-Plus set internal batch approval inactive
5
MELAtrace® stand alone
“stand-alone” installation only connection cables necessary all MELAG device IP addresses fits together ( xxx )
6
MELAtrace® practice network
Installation into a practice network contact responsible practice administrator to get free IP addresses for devices which have to connect to the practice network to clarify the way of log transfer in their network ( FTP or TCP ) to get FTP-Server installed in order to open or configure installed security software to discuss where the protocols have to be stored ( log path ) FTP TCP USB direct on the server
7
MELAtrace® Licensing MELAview the devices will be licensed in MELAview each device needs an own license, calculated by the device serial number MELAview holds the connection (via TCP or serial) and gathers the cycle protocols MELAview has nothing to do with FTP
8
MELAtrace® MELAtrace to generate the license file we do need the fulfilled registration form with Delivery note number MELAtrace serial number Practice name and address address to send the license file
9

MELAtrace® FTP directly
FTP – File Transmission Protocol + Automatic reconnecting every 8 seconds + user friendly (starts automatically with computer) + freeware - Firewall interupts connection after Windows Update (sometimes) - installation on server needs administration rights User: DTA1234 Password: MELAG12345 User: B1234 Password: MELAG12345 User: Profiklasse Password: MELAG12345

TCP – Transmission Control Protocol
MELAtrace® TCP TCP – Transmission Control Protocol + Automatic connection establishing with MELAtrace start + connection is independently from firewalls + tcp connection module is already implemented in MELAtrace, no extra software needed - Currently no automatic reconnecting available (machine switched off and on -> connection lost) - Software on computer costs money (MELAtrace/ Practice software) Port 65001 MELAtrace connection validation In order to validate the connection, that means device and according IP-address match together, a status protocol has to be successfully transferred to computer directly after connection establishing Port 65001 Port 65001 TCP Port 65001
17
MELAtrace® USB - serial connection
USB – Universal Serial Bus + easy connecting (plug and play) + without practice network - Additional hardware required -> usb-serial converter - max. 10m distance - Usb-hub necessary with addional power supply MELAtrace connection validation In order to validate the connection, that means device and choosen Com-Port match together, a protocol has to be successfully transferred to computer after connection establishing COM 2 COM 3 USB-serial conv. USB Multi-Hub COM 4 COM 5 MELAseal requires an usb driver -> MELAG CardCreator
