December 9, 2016 Language Arts – Letters T and U (handwriting / letter recognition / sign language / sound / song); Color Word: Review of all colors; writing in our kindergarten journals (writing the date and a simple sentence to match our picture); literature about alphabet letters, winter, and the calendar; Story retelling; Listening skills; Following directions; Vocabulary during projects: over, under, above, underneath, below, left, right, embellishments. Math – Counting to 30; Calendar math; Patterns; Ordinal Numbers; Symmetry Guidance – I-Care Language and understanding our feelings We welcomed winter this week with lots of projects, reading and writing based on the cold weather. We are also working on independence with our winter gear. Putting on and zipping our jackets by ourselves is a big task that is being practiced every day before recess and dismissal. Gloves and hats are also coming into the routine now that the weather has officially become colder. Please help your child practice doing these tasks independently at home too. We will go outside even on cold days, so please make sure your child comes to school with the proper gear! Next week we are focusing on mittens all throughout our curriculum. We will have Mitten Mania on Friday and there are still spots available for volunteers. Please consider helping out!
