2 Nation building: Definition: The process of building a national identity to FOSTER social harmony and economic growth. A nation is more than a country In other words it’s a country and all the people who live in it.

3 Nation building: The process of building a nation is more than:
Just voting for a government, Building infrastructure like roads, Schools and building hospitals, Making sure that everyone has access to jobs or housing.

4 What’s the meaning? Bulding a nation means creating a united sense or feeling of what it means to be South African. Mandela Specifically spoke of South Africa as the Rainbow nation.

South Africa is made up of a vast diversity of cultures, beliefs and traditions. Heritage day encourages us to think about all the aspects of the South African culture: food, land we live in, languages, history etc.
