1 WEDGE CONTROLLER The WEDGE is attached to the back of the control panel.

2 WEDGE CONTROLLER WEDGE Controller is the heart of the machine monitor and control system. It provides data collection, alarming and control functions for compressor operations. It is an Intel micro-controller based unit with analog and digital inputs and outputs.

3 WEDGE CONTROLLER First function of the WEDGE is to scan all analog and digital inputs at a fixed interval. The inputs are scanned every 50 milliseconds. The values are then compared against min. and max. values and an ALERT or SHUTDOWN is issued. Second function to monitor discharge press., and varies engine speed to maintain air press. at desired setpoint. Third function to retrieve diagnostic info from the engine.

4 WEDGE CONTROLLER There are two types of temperature sensors, RTD’S and Thermistors. Both of these devices exhibit a change in resistance as the temperature changes. This resistance change causes an input voltage change to the WEDGE Controller Input and is interpreted as a temperature change.

Wedge can display the following units; Deg F, PSI will be displayed as ‘PSI’ Deg C, Bars will be displayed as ‘Bar’ Deg C, Kg/cm2 will be displayed as ‘H9C’ DegC, Kpa will be displayed as ‘ HPA’ NOTE: To set refer to the operators manual.
