Imatinib mesylate inhibits PDGF-mediated ERK and Akt activation.
Imatinib mesylate inhibits PDGF-mediated ERK and Akt activation. Confluent breast fibroblast cultures, arrested in DMEM containing 0.1% FCS, were preincubated for 60 min with 10 μmol/L imatinib and were then stimulated with PDGF (10 ng/mL). After 30 min, the cells were collected and subjected to Western blot analysis by using antibodies against the phosphorylated forms of ERK and Akt. The expression of total ERK and Akt was used as loading controls. One representative of three identical experiments is shown here. Vassiliki Gioni et al.
