Facts about Titanic Massive hull, measuring 882 x 92 feet; damaged by a gash that was only 220 x 245 inches long The gash flooded 5 watertight compartments; had it been only 4, the ship would have stayed afloat It took (number of years) to build, but only 3hours for the famous ocean liner to sink completely Sunk because it collided with a small iceberg, about 400 miles off the coast of Canada
14
Facts about Titanic A total of 6 iceberg warnings were ignored during the course of that fateful night on April 14, 1912 the ship was tavelling at 22.5 knots (that’s just 0.5 knots off its max speed of 23knots); too fast for safety there were a total of 1178 lifeboat seats available; however many left the ship only half full only 705 passengers survived; 1503 perished most of the survivors were women and children The wealthy and powerful perished together with the poor and powerless workers

LESSONS Never too important to go under
That one safety valve could be the difference It takes ages to build, but only a moment to destroy Our undoing might not be about size but the hit The signals we ignore may come to haunt us Pace of reckless debt procurement could be our undoing Our well laid out plans will unravel in chaos It matters little where you sit/stand in a sinking ship Even the finest of us is not safe when the water breaks the hull
