Relationship between time from diagnosis of type 2 diabetes to renal biopsy and the proportion of biopsies with any diabetic nephropathy (DN) and any non-diabetic renal disease (NDRD) (n=258). The proportion of any DN increased with duration of type 2 diabetes (p<0.005), but NDRD remained a common finding even in patients with a long duration of type 2 diabetes. The proportion of acute presentations was similar in all three tertiles of diabetes duration (p=0.18). AKI, acute kidney injury. Jasmine Tan et al.
