4. Need for Location Model
A Location model allows us to centralise all location related information
It answers the question “Where ?”
It prevents having the information spread through the model in inconsistent ways
We will provide a simple model that can be extended or replaced by a more comprehensive solution if required

Party contact postal and street address
Access Point indoor location

6. TMF SID Location model
The SID Location model is a bit heavyweight for what we need, but may serve as a good starting point

Unlike the Party model, Location models are quite rare in the literature. It is possible that most businesses don’t need a complex Location model.
Network Management has a number of special Location related requirements, from knowing where outside plant is (fibre cable locations) to indoor Wi-Fi access point heat maps

Linking the inventory model to the Location model via CD decouples the two modules. It allows inventory items to be grouped, reducing the number of association instances to be managed and also giving more sensible semantics. It also reduces the number of associations in the model. *
