Influential Champion - or group of champions who can gather & engage cross-sector leaders A Sense of Urgency for Change - opportunity or crisis that must be acted upon now Adequate Financial Resources -  2-3 years of funding and an anchor funder or funders

7 Building a statewide effort is a strategic process.
Webster’s Dictionary defines strategic planning as “the science and art of mobilizing all forces (resources) – to obtain the goals and objectives” Its not RESOURCES but RESOURSEFULNESS that ultimately makes the difference Tony Robbins

8 It starts with a common agenda.
This means coming together to collectively define the problem and create a shared vision to solve it. Slide from:

9 Assure optimal development of EVERY child in the State of Connecticut
Developmental screening is a way parents and others can identify children who might be a risk of developmental delays or behavioral problems. These issues can affect a child’s ability to do well in school These issues can affect a child’s ability to do well in community. These issues can affect a child’s ability to do well in life

10 It establishes shared measurement.
That means agreeing to track progress in the same way, which allows for continuous improvement. Slide from:

11 It fosters mutually reinforcing activities.
That means coordinating each partners’ unique competencies to maximize the end result. Slide from:

12 It encourages continuous communication.
This means building relationships and trust among all participants and includes those who are affected most (parents & caregivers) Slide from:

14 All of these conditions together can produce EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS
