6. To facilitate easy updates for new application features and fixes, stay on a supported version of PeopleTools. (With the current PeopleTools support policy, a PeopleTools version is no longer supported 24 months after the next PeopleTools release.)
Be aware that bug fixes might require a certain PeopleTools patch level. Oracle makes every effort to ensure that required patches have been generally available for 9-12 months.

Before downloading an Update Image, visit the PeopleSoft Update Manager Homepage to find important information about the contents of the image.
Cumulative Feature Overview
The Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO) tool shows deltas between releases and delivered PeopleSoft Update Images. Business analysts use this tool to track changes that have already been applied and set priorities for features that haven't been applied. Technical analysts use it to determine the minimum PeopleTools requirements for each feature.

Planned Features and Enhancements
New features and enhancements are delivered throughout the year in PeopleSoft Update Images. The Planned Features and Enhancements information center provides a high-level view of planned new features and enhancements to all applications and technology. All items listed on the site are planned to be delivered through PeopleSoft Update Images within the next 12 to 18 months. Every time an image is released, the site is updated to reflect the latest plans.
Business analysts track the planned features and enhancements to determine whether a feature is important to the organization or impacts current customizations and to identify product areas that are being enhanced.
