3 Daily Procedures A.M. Arrival-Locker and Restroom
Materials – in place and ready for class when the 7:40 bell rings. - Missing any materials – unprepared for class Planners-All assignments and important information recorded daily as directed

4 Daily Procedures Continued…
Assignments – full name and date - follow directions - complete and neat - point system – all home work assignments/points Late/missed assignments- District Policy : The earned percentage rate will be reduced by 50% for one day late, and will be reduced by an extra 10% for each day thereafter. * Example- If a student earns an 80% on the assignment and it is one day late, the final grade will be a 40%, with two days late 30%, and with three days late 20%. After three school days, late work will no longer be accepted.

5 Reading Daily Materials – journals, books, planner, homework, and sharpened pencils Reading instruction – Houghton Mifflin Anthology and Leveled Readers - Anthology – class instruction - Leveled Readers – group instruction -Curriculum based on state standards Book Reports/Reviews – Independent reading - Hatchet –current class assignment - Approximately 2-4 books/marking period

6 Language Arts : English and Spelling
English – includes grammar and written composition Parts of speech, sentence structure, paragraphs Personal Narrative Spelling – integrated with reading selections -Emphasis on spelling patterns - Pretest – -Homework assignments/test on list

7 Language Arts Grades Secondary report card is used
Grades are reported as percent There is one grade for Language Arts: Reading .50 English/Writing .30 Spelling .20

8 Academic Enrichment Period
20 Minutes of silent reading/daily Academic support as needed-Students may seek help in core subjects Make up work (absences) Library/Computer Lab as needed Extra curricular activities Band, Orchestra, Chorus

9 Misc. Homework: Daily Calendar – on our Team’s website
HW Buddy – absent from school Student is responsible for obtaining missed assignments Lunch Please make sure your child eats breakfast daily. Discuss lunch choices and amount they should spend. Only 1 “charged” lunch is permitted. eSchoolsPlus-to monitor your child’s progress online (HAC)

10 Misc. Rams Rule Coupons-6th grade behavior incentive program
Warning Card System-Building Behavior Plan Procedures and routines - Unprepared for class –after three signatures in the log

11 Warning Card System Tracked throughout the building
Used for infractions of Procedures, Routines, Expectations or Low Level 1 Offenses All Warning Cards will reset back to “0” after the end of the first semester Tied to Dances, Assemblies, other School Sponsored Functions Positive Rewards will be given for those students with “few or no” Warning Cards

12 Warning Card System continued…
A student is issued a Warning Card for every THIRD time he/she is unprepared for class. This includes the following: Materials Textbooks Homework Must be three times for the same teacher

13 Consequences LUNCH DETENTION AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION 1 DAY OF ISS
After 3 Warning Cards After 6 Warning Cards (Referred to Guidance Counselor) AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION After 9 Warning Cards (Referred to Principals) After 12 Warning Cards (Referred to Principals/Counselors) Students Ineligible for School Sponsored Activities 1 DAY OF ISS After 15 Warning Cards (Referred to Principals) After 18 Warning Cards (Referred to Principals/Counselors)

14 Rewards Students earning fewer than 3 Warning Cards will be eligible for a reward at the end of each marking period. Rewards could come in the form of: Parties Special Assemblies Fun Days Dances Students that earn no Warning Cards will be eligible for a “larger” reward at the end of the school year.
