TOK Art Day – June 6th Read the gold and gray handouts to yourself right away, you will need the time… note the details… One correction in the box on the middle of the page on the gold handout-it should say “Tuesday”, 6/4… not Wednesday Once you have read all the details… consider the following questions: How can you get people to see your piece & interact with it? What kind of visual strategies can you employ? How can you best utilize space and light? How can you monitor your installation throughout the day to see people’s reactions (and remove inappropriate reactions)? How will you document your piece (pictures, videos, who will film)? Push THINKING not simply reactions… I will stand by you if you clearly communicate in your written plan and it is approved, but think about if it were to go “viral”… will it send the right message? Remember, this is not a Senior Prank…

TOK Art Day – June 6th Approval process for gray written plan document
I won’t sign until your parents have signed Ms. Landes will not sign until I have signed. (do not bother other administrators as they were told not to sign) Ms. Landes is out of the building tomorrow, but can do approval process thru & then print approval to staple to plan Today, she is free during class or B Lunch or after school I will be in the Library after school tomorrow until 4:10 – you have until then to turn in the gray planning document to me – everything completed, including all signatures. Other details Groups of no more than 2-3 people, OK to do it yourself When turning in completed written plan, must sign up on the map as to where your piece will take place in the school If you don’t want to come early on Thursday, you can put anything up on Wednesday 6/5 after 4:15 pm if you get that approved by me when turning in you written plan This is Ms. Landes!

TOK Art Day – June 6th Non-negotiables: if you do not follow these you will earn a zero on the whole assignment worth 125 points Must follow the approved Written Plan Must NOT disrupt the learning of others No trace of materials left behind by 3:30pm on 6/6 Materials must leave no mark behind MUST USE PAINTERS TAPE Do a dry run with any questionable materials the day before Can’t break school rules or create a dangerous situation If you have any writing done by the viewers you need to manage it ALL day long… anticipate the reality that people will write inappropriate things No tripping hazards, or traffic flow issues Needs to be noticed by a substantial number of people Anything admin deems deserving of a Zero not anticipated on this list
