Project: Enabling Communities to Combat Child Trafficking through Education Project
Location: Indonesia (5 provinces)
Implementer: Save the Children with IOM serving as sub-contractor and key partner
Partners: government actors, NGOs, community-based organisations
Project duration: September 2004 – June 2009 (prolonged till June 2012)
Funds: USD (plus additional USD )
One main target: provide direct educational services to trafficked children
Mid-term evaluation: 2007 (independent)
Our task: end-of-term evaluation (2012)

3. Key assumptions
Education will contribute to the end of child trafficking.
Family and employers allow children to participate in the educational activities.
Implementing partners have the capacities to carry out their tasks.
Trafficked children are enrolled and there is no significant drop-out.
Child trafficking is a priority for government especially for the Ministry of Education.
