Sections were also immunohistochemically stained for type II collagen (g–i, brown is positive stain). Lower magnification micrographs to demonstrate staining distribution representative of both groups are shown in the first column (a & d are samples from the Medium 2 group and g & j are samples from the Medium 1 group).
