Leverage local chapters to:
Tap into local/regional dynamics that drive member policies and positions
Amplify bottom-up pressure to complement national engagements with member offices
Leverage functional divisions to:
Consolidate sector unique challenges into policy proposals for NDIA National to champion
Use division SMEs to great extent for education engagements across Congress and Executive Branch
This is my charter as Program Development at NDIA:
Operationalizing the NDIA Mission statement is about moving forward with our three basic tenants:
Champion issues that contribute in a very meaningful way to the Industrial Base
Build a vigorous and collaborative community of support
Convene legal and ethical forums for exchange and dialogue
These are the responsibilities that I have that will enable our mission:
Coordination, support and oversight of Divisions, Chapters and Working Groups
I will show you how we are going to do this over the next few slides.
We’re most compelling and effective through member collaboration

Actions: House Armed Services Committee (HASC) will markup Subcommittee bills on June 4 and 5; Full Committee bill markup on June 12
Senate Version: $750 Billion ($642.5 for Base; $23.2 for DOE; and $75.9 for OCO)
Actions: Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) advanced bill out of Committee by a vote of 25-2
What does it fund?: Nuclear Modernization Program (Triad); Planes (F-35’s, F-15X, Tankers); Ships (Submarines); R&D (Hypersonics and Cybersecurity Capabilities); Space Force; and more efficient and effective acquisition processes inter alia
FY 2020 Defense Appropriations (No Budget Resolution passed in Congress; no agreement to lift budget caps)
House Version: $690.2 Billion ($622.1 for Base; $68.1 for OCO)
