Health educators call for guarantee of funding level for healthcare courses Review of post-18 Education and Funding (Dr Philip Augar, May 2019) Tuition fee cap of £7500 per year from 2021/22 Grants directed to disadvantaged students, high value and high cost subjects Office for Students (OfS) supporting “socially desirable” professions such as nursing Risks: gap in funding for healthcare courses; unaffordable; education quality; reduction in student places; withdrawal of courses; delivery of future workforce commitments/NHS long term plan Request for: Guarantee existing levels of funding for healthcare pre-registration education and maintenance grants
