Definition A graph that shows information that changes over time. Reason To show the profit of sales in a business over a period of time. To show the change in temperature of an area over a period of time.

How To Make A Line Graph Gather data that is occurring over time
Figure out your X and Y variables Put the data into a table that labels it as the X and Y variables Plot the ordered pairs Connect the dots creating a line graph

Advantages You can see a clear progression of data over a period of time. You can have multiple sets of data by using a double or triple line graph.

Disadvantages Its harder to show an average for one set data.
If you have data that is all happening at the same time, it is impossible to graph that on a line graph.
