Project Narrative (Problem and Need)
The fourteen (14) years of civil unrest left many Liberian women vulnerable and abandoned by their husbands; their homes and businesses were damaged, leaving them to start their lives from zero. Now that the war is over, the government has introduced several programs to address the many problems the post-war country faces, but there still exist gaps amongst the women’s communities in the rural areas. As a result of this, these women are finding it very difficult to make a living on their own. . Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization
5
Having carefully followed these situations found in all sectors of the Liberian Communities, the need to empower these females in micro-finance and business development is a priority. With this, the living conditions for these women will be improved far beyond their present conditions. Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization
