The great pyramid of Khufu is located in Egypt in the Valley of the Kings.
It took years to build and is made of 2.3 million blocks of limestone and granite.

The first great Greek mathematician, Thales (623 – 545 BC), asked the Egyptian priests about the height of the great pyramid.

The priests refused to tell him so Thales used the shadow of a stake in the ground to estimate the height. How did he do it? What was the height to the stake and the length of the two shadows? ?

Thales assumed that the rays of the sun were parallel.
That meant that the triangles were similar.
