BACKGROUND NWI Initiated in 2006
API 17 P / ISO new recommended practice Effort is being led by API task group Draft relied heavily on specifications from a number of operators

modular and integrated single satellite and multiwell templates subsea processing and subsea boosting stations flowline riser bases and export riser bases (FRB, ERB) pipeline end manifolds (PLEM) pipeline end terminations (PLET) T- and Y-connections subsea isolation valve (SSIV) subsea controls and distribution structures other subsea structures protection structures associated with the above.

Completed April 2009 24 pages of comments Draft International Standard version was sent to technical writer for final formatting Draft International Standard version has been competed and accepted Completed March 2010 26 pages of comments (all have been addressed) Structural steel section added (updated) Final Draft International Standard version has been competed and submitted for Ballot

CURRENT STATUS Result of FDIS ballot was approved Q3 2011
ISO has been released API adopt back ballot Q4 2011 15 affirmative votes 2 no votes (1 operator, 1 hardware supplier)

NEXT STEPS Re-ballot as API 17P
Start next revision as soon as approved Major work in clause 7 (materials) Reconsider comments from adopt back ballot
