4 Admission Policy Queen Mira International School abides by an admissions policy that includes a non- discrimination policy and a policy about preference in the selection process. AP 001 Racial Nondiscriminatory Policy We at Queen Mira International School admit qualified students of any race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available at all schools. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions scholarship programs and athletic and other administered programs. AP 002 Admission Process: The admission process is intended to be personal and informative for all prospective families. Page : 3

5 Admission Policy AP 003 School Visit and Registration:
Parents / Guardian are encouraged to visit the school for a tour of the campus understand the culture and ethics of the institution, whether it is in sync with their expectations from the school that they will choose for their child. The parent needs to fill up a registration form. Following this, admissions team will present details on the infrastructure, capacity, availability of seat, values and ethics, discipline and vision of the school. Page : 4

6 Admission Policy AP 004 Interview and Screening
Applications for Junior Kindergarten through seventh grade are accepted throughout the school year based on availability. Parents may pick up an application at the school office or download the appropriate form from the website. On application, the student applicant will take an entry level assessment which is being conducted only with a motive of understanding the child’s grade level expectations. This general test includes English comprehension, mathematical skills, critical evaluation and logical reasoning. The applicant will then have a personal interview with the level Co-ordiantor / Principal. On need basis, the parent will also be accompanying the child for this formal interaction. Page : 5

7 Admission Policy AP 005 Admission Decisions
Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of the candidates. Results of entry level assessment and previous school records are considered on a case-by-case basis. When there are no vacancies available in the desired class, meritorious students will be placed on a waiting list and considered for the first available vacancy Parents will be notified on the acceptance status by mail or phone call. Once a student is accepted, the parent needs to fill up the application form and ensure all documents are in order. The child will be met to ensure that there is no special help needed for the child and the school is equipped to handle if there is any medical condition that the child is suffering from. Page : 6

QMIS/ Admin / / Amendment th of Sep, 2018 NOTIFICATION In pursuance of the recommendations of the Senior Leadership Committee at its meeting held on , the following amendment is recommended as an addition to the existing admission policy of Queen Mira International School and the same comes into effect from October 2018. Admission Criteria for Students with Special Needs: A special provision is made for the admissions of students with special needs as: If the child has a known special need (Specific learning disabilities SPLD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, autism, etc)details of the same should be communicated while applying for admission. The child should undergo clinical assessment and psychological intervention and due endorsement from the concerned Medical personnel should be submitted mentioning that the child should be in an “inclusive classroom” atmosphere. Please note that for a candidate with special needs the admission process is different and may be lengthier than the regular. At this point of time, we have limited capabilities and we will take a call on the admissions on a case to case basis. Page : 9
