Correlation of miR-21 expression levels with DEGs in 28 bladder cancer cell lines. A, MiR-21 expression levels in 28 bladder cancer cell lines, as assessed by RT-qPCR. qPCR levels (high, medium, low) of miR-21 are annotated along with cell line name. B, 28 bladder cancer cell lines were arrayed against their pooled reference mix, and the name of each cell line is listed on the Y axis. The 15 DEGs are listed on the X axis and attached in hierarchical tree to indicate the distance of relation between each gene. The logarithmic color scheme depicts the expression levels of DEGs expression from higher to lower in red > black > green order. C,In silico complementarity analysis between miR-21 sequence and the coding and 3′UTR sequences for all the 15 genes found to be inversely correlated with miR-21 expression was performed, using the RNA22 v2 microRNA target detection. Criteria that were applied include a size seed of 7 and 11 as the minimum number of paired up bases in heteroduplex and maximum folding energy in heteroduplex, respectively.
