Chapter One is all about learning to write and count from 0-5
You will receive a math packet with practice pages. This is not required work to be done, however, each child that returns it completed will receive a small prize
We will be working on counting and number recognition in our math centers.

Writing
We will be working a lot on recognizing and writing our names. Please practice writing your child’s name with the first letter only capitalized.
We will also be practicing writing our alphabet letters and naming their sounds.

2. Mrs. Venturi Reading Homework
We will be reading The Little School Bus.
Letter Focus – Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee
Sight Words – I, am
Amazing Words – first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth.
This week’s little decodable reader book is entitled Who am I? Have your child read this to you at home. We practice several times at school and they are very excited about learning to read!
We will start to introduce some of our reading centers this week.
Homework
As a mom of 2, I understand busy evenings and family time. I will not assign any homework that is required to be completed.  Research correlated to student success includes: reading together, eating together, and getting to bed early.  
However, some parents do request additional work to help their child.  ​

Math packets (will be sent home at the beginning of a unit and due after each unit is over, student will receive a small prize for returning it to school)​.
Communication
Please sign your child’s planner daily and empty folders out each night.
The planners are an excellent way for us to communicate!
