What happens to Atlanta?
It’s the year Thanks to a major trade war with another country, the United States experiences some tough times. Georgia, as a key player in global trade begins to feel the consequences of this shift in the economic landscape. Thanks to the down turn, people no longer travel to Georgia in droves. Hartfied-Jackson Airport is forced to close. With the closing of the airport, 10,000 employees are laid off. With them, go the businesses that were growing around the airport: the companies that supplied the fuel, the restaurants that fed employees and guests, the convention centers and hotels that accommodated flight crews and city guests. The housing market dries up because people can’t afford new houses. People can’t afford the houses they currently have, so neighborhood qualities go down. People who remain are desperate for the few jobs that are available. These available jobs are only looking for a limited set of skills, so if you can’t program a computer, your job prospects are extremely bleak. People get more desperate to make a living, so crime becomes a major business. Crime rates skyrocket. While some have the connections and money to leave, the people who remain are trapped in crime-ridden areas. What happens to Atlanta? Socially? Economically? Globally?

Violence Cartels have taken over drug-trafficking operations and harm those who get in the way Farmers are often targeted because of their willingness/unwillingness to use land to grow drugs
11
Migration to the United States
All of these reasons are why people are leaving their home countries in Latin America and migrating to the United States. The United States: Better Education Better Jobs Less government corruption Less drug violence
