There are a range of penalties under this Act, depending on the seriousness of the breach
WorkSafe inspectors can issue a fine of up to
$50,000 for an individual
or $250,000 for a company
In serious cases prosecutions can be made
resulting in fines of up to $600,000 for an individual
or $3,000,000 for a PCBU (person conducting a business or undertaking - this includes individuals, partnerships, companies and associations)
