1 Saturn Basic Stats, and Facts

2 Saturn Stats Radius: 9.46 times Earth’s (60,268 km )
Mass: times Earth’s (5.68 x 10^26 kg ) Density: .69 g/cm³ ( % of Earth’s) It is less dense than Water (1 g/cm³), So it Floats! Surface Gravity: m/s² ( 74% Earth’s!) You weigh less! Because its density is so low! Orbit and Rotation Radius (average.): 9.54 AU (1,427,000,000 km ) Year: Earth Years Sidereal Day: hours Axial Tilt: º (Earth’s: 23.45°)

3 Saturn and Jupiter For the most part Saturn is a slightly smaller, less dense, cooler version of Jupiter. The two chief differences are both due to Saturn being cooler: Ammonia in the atmosphere freezes creating thicker clouds of ice crystals that mask the bright colors of the clouds beneath. Helium “Rain” Helium droplets condense and fall through the atmosphere and toward the center. Their potential energy becoming heat… So that Saturn gives off more heat than it gets.. like Jupiter but for a different reason.

4 Saturn like Jupiter has storms and lighting,
though wind speeds are less because it is cooler It has a Magnetic Field, Magnetosphere and Aurora too!
