Today we will be playing the role of a prosecutor and argue who we believe is guilty of committing a heinous crime.
We will read indictments on 5 suspects and evaluate the evidence to determine their guilt.
After analyzing all of the evidence, you will make your case as to why you think your suspect is guilty of the crime

3. The Crime
For thousands of years the Tainos people of Hispaniola lived in peace.
Following the events of Columbus’ discovery of the Island in 1492, 3 million or more Tainos people lost their lives
By 1550 very few Tainos still remained alive on the island.
Who or what is responsible for this slaughter?

With your table group, read through the indictments for the 5 suspects.
On your worksheet, record the strongest pieces of evidence against the suspect.
