2. What is the wellbeing award?
The wellbeing award is a nationally recognised award given to schools to show that they have a commitment too and ethos of supporting students with their mental health and wellbeing. Not many schools in the UK have this award

3. What do schools need to do?
Show their commitment to promoting mental health as part of school life
Improve the emotional wellbeing of their pupils
Ensure mental health problems are identified early and appropriate support provided
Offer provision and interventions that matches the needs of its pupils
Engage the whole-school community in the importance of mental health awareness
Capture the views of parents, pupils and teachers on mental health issues

5. What did the inspectors say?
The tour around the School was both informative and arresting. I have seldom seen this degree of thought and vitality on the walls of a secondary school, combined with a clear commitment to destigmatising issues of emotional wellbeing and mental health.
The School provided outstanding evidence about the provision for, and care of, its students.
There were a huge number of strengths identified during verification, including:
The relationships between staff, between staff and students and between students themselves
The Wellbeing Hub and the widely appreciated work of the school counsellor
The ethos of the School, encapsulated in its strapline - ‘Your child is our child’ and the many ways in which this was exemplified during the day
The extremely impressive PSHE programme and the way it is planned, prepared, delivered and appreciated by the students
The wide and varied internal and external provision available for students
