1 PACING GUIDE 5TH Grade English/Writing
Use this information simply as a guideline. Adjust the pace to meet the needs of your students. Feel free to carry over to the next six weeks any skills not yet mastered, OR go ahead to skills listed in the upcoming six weeks if your students are ready to move on. Easier lessons at the beginning of the year may need to be combined, or embedded when appropriate to maximize instructional time. FYI, the State anticipates TCAP to be administered in the 6th six weeks. Warning: not all lessons in the Houghton Mifflin textbook are in the 5th grade standards. Consider skipping, embedding, or compacting those lessons.
