Sight Words Fry Sight Words 1-50
Students should not spend more than 3 seconds on each word when tested. We will send home study lists of 10 words at a time that go along with our reading series. Students will be tested on all 50 in October, December, and May.

It is very important that you check your child’s Dojo daily to stay informed on their behavior at school, class announcements, and photos. Students will earn points for positive behavior and lose points for negative behavior. Points will be used to earn Treasure Box and Fun Friday!

Fun Friday is a reward for students displaying good behavior throughout the week.
Students must not lose more than 4 points in 1 week to attend Fun Friday. In December and May we will have a MEGA Fun Friday. Students missing more than 2 Fun Fridays in the semester will not attend the Mega Fun Friday event. Students not attending Fun Friday will also not be allowed to have the ice cream treat at snack on Friday.

Field Trips T-Shirts Photos
We will take 2 Field Trips in Kindergarten. Fall – October 12 to Lyon’s Family Farm Spring – TBD Field Trip chaperones need to have a volunteer card through Madison City Schools. Visit to complete the process. It will take a few weeks to be verified so do this early. Kindergarten will order class specific t-shirts within the next few weeks. These will be worn for field trips, class parties, special events, etc. When attending any Kindergarten function (field trip, class party, etc.) please only photograph your child. T-Shirts Photos

Breakfast Students need to eat breakfast each morning either at home or at school. If eating a breakfast at school, they need to be to school early. Car line doors open at 7:10. Students must be done eating breakfast and in their classroom by 7:40. Breakfast is charged to their lunch account. If students are eating a school lunch, please be sure they have money in their lunch account. You can send in cash or check to their teacher or pay online at PAYPAMS. If bringing a lunch from home, please be sure your child is able to open their containers. Pack snacks in a separate bag so they do not get eaten at lunch by accident. Lunch

When do I need to keep my child home from school?
Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever reducing medication e.g., Tylenol or Ibuprofen. (temperature of 100 degrees or higher) Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the last eight hours. Teachers will send home a copy of Madison City’s Code of Conduct for Infectious Diseases. Remember the best way to prevent illness is to encourage consistent hand washing, proper rest, and a healthy diet.

Your child must have money in their lunch account to purchase snack milk/water and ice cream on Friday. Please be sure to send in money for these items. Check your child’s Paw Pad a each night. Initial any behavior notes written on the calendar. Rest mats will be sent home every other Friday. Please wash them and send them back on Monday. Lunch numbers – Students use this number for lunch, library, and computer lab. They need to learn this number as soon as possible. Independence – opening containers, packing their book bag, zipping/buttoning jackets and coats, tying shoes, buttoning pants/belts, etc.
