Speech, language and communication (SLC)
Speech is using sounds like ‘t’ and ‘k’ so people can understand what you say. We combine sounds to make words. Language is talking (expressive) and understanding (receptive). Languages have systems of words and rules. Communication refers to how we interact with others, using language, gestures, body language, facial expressions, symbols, signs and pictures in different ways. It is a two way process.
