4 A verb is an action word. Let’s think of a few examples.

5 Scream, do, work, eat, challenge, energize, drink, exercise, turn, be, run, shake, fidget, write, cook… Excellent!

6 So, what is a verbal ? A verbal is formed from a verb but functions as a different part of speech.

7 So, what is a verbal ? Verbals are never the main verb in a sentence. They are verbs that are acting as another part of speech.

8 Each verbal is often part of a phrase.

9 There are three types of verbals:
Gerunds Infinitives Participles Each day, you will focus on a different type of verbal for homework.
