To “Transfer Eligibility Benefits (TEB)” … requires members to be eligible for and agree to serve 4 additional years of service on active duty or in the selected reserve beyond the date they elect to transfer their benefits

As of 12 July 2019, any member who has GREATER than 16 years of service will no longer be eligible to transfer education benefits to their dependents.
020/19 - POST 9-11 GI BILL EXCEPTION TO POLICY – 1/24/2019
Sailors APPROACHING 16 years of service must take action prior to 12 July 2019 to preserve the ability to transfer benefits or it will be lost
