What is Rough E.R The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is responsible for the production of the protein and lipid components of most of the cell's organelles. Is a eukaryotic organelle that forms an interconnected network of tubules, vesicles, and cisternae within cells.
3
Endoplasmic Reticulum
The surface of the rough endoplasmic reticulum is studded with protein-manufacturing ribosome's. The membrane of the RER is continuous with the outer layer of the nuclear envelope. The libosomes give it the rough appearance which gives it the name rough er
4
RER Part 2 Protein translation is the folding and transport of proteins to be used in the cell membrane. The endoplasmic reticulum is also responsible for production and storage of glycogen, steroids, and other macromolecules.
