1 Synteny and Phylogeny of Putative GRMZM2G053177 Orthologs.
Synteny and Phylogeny of Putative GRMZM2G Orthologs. (A) Local synteny of rice, foxtail millet, sorghum, and maize. Each box represents a gene on the chromosome, with boxes of the same color representing orthologous/paralogous genes. Colored lines are shown to connect orthologous genes between species. Light and dark purple genes are cupin genes, which have undergone species-specific duplication events. Red genes in bold boxes represent GRMZM2G and its putative orthologs. (B) Phylogeny of putative GRMZM2G orthologs generated using the Maximum Likelihood method. Bootstrap values from 1000 replicates are shown on the nodes. The tree is drawn to scale, with branch lengths measured in the number of substitutions per site (see scale bar). Kameron Wittmeyer et al.
