Social Justice A Social Justice Committee was created during the school year to guide decision making processes in Unit 4. This committee included community members, teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

Unit 4 Definition of Social Justice
Unit 4 understands social justice as a continual commitment to thoughtfully consider and actively challenge societal norms that privilege some and not others.

Social Justice Framework
Identify the Issue Identify the parts of our system that are affected by the issue – ex – transportation, parent/family involvement What is the goal? Who benefits from how it is currently done? Who is marginalized or left out from how it is currently done? How can we change our practice to be more just?

Racial Identity Action Group
To learn about their own racial identity, the racial identities of others, and how racial constructs inform societal norms and outcomes To formulate amongst male students a progressive understanding about race and identity To empower high school males to advocate for racial/social justice and become leaders for social justice To empower male students to positively influence the narrative about race in our community

Racial Identity Action Group
To facilitate a process for high school males to pay it forward and act as mentors to the younger generation and to continue this into adulthood To provide mentors to younger students who can help them be color brave and not color blind in school and the community
