Items that Require UPB Approval
Submit PDARF forms to Programme/Graduate School Board Approval** Programme Changes New Programmes Changes relating to: Non-standard admission requirements * Governance of a programme Graduate Taught Pathway Programmes Collaborative or inter-institutional arrangements Changes that would result in the addition of a CAO route (i.e. DN Codes) Changes that require Academic Council approval (e.g. changes to matriculation requirements Proposals that change the degree award to a non-standard degree award (other than BA, BSc, MA, MSc, MPhil or PhD) All retrospective programme changes, i.e. after the commencement of the current intake term All new programme developments involving Collaborative or inter-institutional arrangements Programme Pathway Proposals New programmes that give rise to additional CAO routes (i.e. DN Codes) Proposals that involve non-standard entry criteria* UPB Approval Actioned by UCD Registry Derogations All exceptions from the Academic Regulations require UPB approval as a derogation **Please ensure that UMT approval is sought as normal * Refer to Pages 3 & 4 of this document for further information. Standard entry requirements for Graduate Taught programmes to be approved by UPB in due course.

Submit PDARF forms to Programme Changes Programme/Graduate School Board Approval** New Programmes Changes in relation to: title of programme, major or minor total overall credits for programme, major or stage progression requirements or transfer arrangements calculation of Honours for degree award Programme Structure changes outside of published Curriculum Management timelines Newly created stage(s) of a programme Development of an exit strategy Development of an entry programme (unless it changes admission criteria) * Change to programme level Discontinuation of programme, major or minor Introduction of alternative delivery of programme Creation of a stream within a major New Programmes from Governing Boards which do not involve: Collaborative provision Additional CAO routes Non-standard entry criteria * Proposals that result in non-standard degree awards (other than a BA, BSc, MA, MSc, MPhil or PhD) Actioned by UCD Registry **Please ensure that UMT approval is sought as normal Derogations All exceptions from the Academic Regulations require UPB approval as a derogation * Refer to Pages 3 & 4 of this document for further information. For any queries please contact STANDARD ENTRY REQUIIREMENTS NON STANDARD (requires UPB approval) A change in English language requirements below the standard UCD requirements To be approved by UPB in due course A pass award in degree (NFQ Level 8) accepted for entry An ordinary degree (NFQ LEVEL 7) accepted for entry

Admissions UCD Registry CHANGES IN ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES (CAO CODES) Please note these lists are not exhaustive. For any queries please contact STANDARD NON STANDARD (requires UPB approval) A change in accepted modules within an already approved QQI-FET award Addition of new programme that requires CAO code (this includes Level 8 Graduate entry programmes ) Addition of minor alternative assessment method for Mature or Graduate entry applicants such as request for references or interview A change in grade or subject requirement * An addition of an alternative entry pathway e.g. mature , FETAC Addition of an accepted award to transfer via an existing HETAC route Introduction of a new QQI-FET major award An addition or removal of an assessment exam e.g. MSAP, HPAT GAMSAT *There is a two year lead time to introduce these non standard entry requirements
