K Research
2
What am I doing? You are completing research on a topic to learn about the circumstances leading up to a specific government’s downfall You are NOT researching the details of a rebellion to write a paper about JUST that rebellion. Why? The revolution/rebellion of your country should be the final topic of your paper. This paper is about HOW your country’s government was corrupt and HOW they mistreated their lower class.
3
What should my introduction look like?
Introduce your topic to me! What is interesting about that time period? What is going on? Who is in charge? What are some main factors that I need to know to help me better understand your whole paper. Why? I am not an expert on specific country/government. Pretend that I know nothing beforehand so I need a brief background. YOU NEED A THESIS. Your thesis should tell me what you will prove in your paper. Use the one on your outline as a guide, and if you need it, you can ask yourself “What factors led to my revolution/rebellion?” to help guide your thoughts. EX: The British government was not an effective form of civil management for the Americas because it was unfair and encouraged oppression of the working class.

What should my first body paragraph look like?
You should answer the question: How was my government corrupt? Basically, what did your king/president/dictator/etc… do that was unfair, unjust, or just not right? You need a topic sentence to guide your paragraph EX: The American citizens suffered under the oppressive rule of the British Government because of unfair representation. You also need CONCRETE DETAILS (aka quotes from your sources) After every quote you need a citation (we will discuss this later) and COMMENTARY (aka use your own words to explain what the quote means) Do not limit yourself to one quote paragraph. You can have as many as necessary to prove you topic sentence.

What should my second body paragraph look like?
You should answer the question: How did my government’s corruption effect the lower classes? Basically, how did what you talked about in your 1st paragraph effect the lower class You need a topic sentence to guide your paragraph You also need CONCRETE DETAILS (aka quotes from your sources) After every quote you need a citation (we will discuss this later) and COMMENTARY (aka use your own words to explain what the quote means) Do not limit yourself to one quote paragraph. You can have as many as necessary to prove you topic sentence.

What should my conclusion look like?
This paragraph should tell the reader how your government affects the world/its people. The answer to this question is easy…. It caused a revolution!!! Recap the reader on your topic, discuss that the people rebelled, and tell the reader what they should take away from this issue.
