1. Capable of receiving combat support from artillery, engineer, recce, CBRN, ISTAR and EW units. 2. Capable of attacking or defending or executing retrograde movements in coordination with other supporting battalions or companies with organic weapons systems. 3. Capable of providing support to armoured forces using protection and mobility. 4. Capable of counter-insurgency, peace support and other manpower intensive operations (such as undertaking patrolling tasks, crowd control etc in less demanding environments). 5. Capable of observation, denial and occupation of areas. 6. Capable of seizing, controlling, holding ground. 7. Capable of joint and combined expeditionary warfare and tactical deployment in extreme hot and cold weather conditions and of operations in most terrain under austere conditions. 8. Capable of operating integrated in an NNEC environment. 9. Capable of integration into the wider JISR system. 10. Capable of real/near-real time BFSA (Blue Force Situation Awareness). 11. Capable of sharing a COP (Common Operational Picture) through dependent units down to squad level (even if dismounted). 12. Capable of recording by day, night and in very limited visibility conditions, imagery of objects or activity of interest and disseminating such imagery and supporting data (e.g. time, location) to a designated processing/exploitation/fusion centre in a timely, robust and secure manner. Imagery may be in the form of stills or video. 13. Capable of automatically updating Log/Ops command and control chain regarding ammunitions and fuel consumption as well as combat related and non-combat related major damages. 14. Capable of operating without support or replenishment for 3 days. 15. Capable of manual minefield clearance and obstacle destruction. 16. Capable of providing an appropriate level of CBRN Force Protection for all organic personnel and equipment. 17. Capable of providing an appropriate level of force protection against Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) for all organic personnel and equipment. 18. Capable of providing integral medical and logistics support.
