2 Singing, Teaching and Admonishing
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

3 What We Are To Do Be filled with wisdom from God’s Word Praise God
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” Praise God “…singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” Teach and admonish one another “teaching and admonishing one another…”

4 What We Are To Sing Psalms Hymns Spiritual Songs
Any song of praise received by inspiration. Hymns From humnos. In ancient Greek literature, this was a song in honor of a god, telling of his great deeds. A sacred song of praise unto God. Spiritual Songs Songs that center the mind upon spiritual truths and encourage worshipers to believe and obey these truths.

5 How We Are To Sing “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). “What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding” (1 Cor. 14:15). We are to be filled with the word of Christ and wisdom (truth, understanding), and we are to sing with grace in our hearts (spirit).

9 Worshiping God in Song Worship is a time to have our brains turned on and our hearts tuned in. From enlightened hearts we open our mouths and sing grateful melodies of praise and adoration to God. At the same time, we sing words of instruction and exhortation to one another.
