Biblical Guidelines for Healthy Finances Concrete Ways to Get out of Debt A Biblical View on Saving & Investments The Importance of Tithing for a Believer Keys to Living an Open & Generous Life

3 As hard as it may be to understand, Jesus Christ talked about money
more than any other subject. He spent 15% of His Gospel conversations on it. That’s more than His discussions on faith, prayer, Heaven & Hell combined!

4 One of the primary reasons that “money matters” to Jesus is that
it often matters so much to us and can frequently become an idol rather than a tool that is to be used for God’s glory. This battle gets decided in our hearts.

5 Matthew 6: 19-21 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

6 Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

8 Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives
free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you never will I forsake you.”

9 that will matter if your heart isn’t ready for it.
Before we spend the next few weeks on some specifics of Biblical finance and some concrete wisdom of “how” to have balance in that area: Know that none of that will matter if your heart isn’t ready for it.

10 1 Chronicles 29: 1-20 King David and the Israelites donate towards the future building of the Temple & David’s Final Prayer

11 “Money & My Heart Check-up”
1.) Do I spend money impulsively? 2.) Saying “need” instead of “want” a lot? 3.) Do I spend money when sad? 4.) Do I frequently spend what I don’t have? 5.) Fantasize about “winning the lottery”? 6.) Would others think of me as “stingy”?
