Spiritual Consequences of Being Sexually Active
Sex is giving the gift of yourself to another person. The sexual self has a spiritual nature. Sex without spirituality: Involves basic animal instincts rather than love Does not acknowledge the deep desire to love and be loved Can make people suspicious of the world and future relationships Can cause suffering through emotional and spiritual harm Allows people to be used and treated as objects Does not respect the dignity of the human person

Three Kinds of Friendship
Utilitarian: you are friends with a person for what they can give you. Common Interest: you are friends because you share an interest (eg. sport, music ) The Good of the Other: you seek the best for the other person, you don’t want bad things to happen to them and you put their needs before your own.
