1.DRAW THE CIRCLE OR CIRCLES—(DEPENDING ON CLASS SIZE/DYNAMICS)
2.EXPLAIN THAT WE WILL NOW “FILL THE CIRCLE WITH ALL THE WORDS WE CAN THINK OF WHICH DESCRIBE DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES IN THE COLOUR RED
3.EXPLAIN THAT WE WILL NOW FILL THE CIRCLE WITH ALL THE WORDS WE CAN THINK OF WHICH DESCRIBE WHAT A COMMUNITY GIVES US ALL IN THE COLOUR BLUE

6. “THIN ICE” group activity
Introduce a series of scenarios that suggest unsafe circumstances
Ask each child how these things can be made safer
Seek input from ALL-Look For the following to be introduced--
Walking home alone
Meeting new people
Vandalism
Playing out alone
Playing with glass bottles
Not helping those in need
Picking up sharp things
Crossing a really busy road
Being lost
AS THE GROUP TO FACE THE OTHER WAY ROUND NOW IN THEIR CHAIRS-(LOOK AT THIS FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE)
NOW INTRODUCE WAYS TO MAKE THESE “AREAS” SAFER!!!!!!!!

Introduce a series of behaviours that appear to be dangerous if tried,
Look for-
My friend asks me to stay out late
My friend tells me to help them hurt someone
I feel scared to be out alone
I am threatened by another child at school
I am threatened by another child in the street
I am asked to carry a knife around school
I see someone being hit by children
I am asked to carry a knife around town
I am asked to swallow a pill/smoke a cigarette
Ask each child to think about the behaviours “together” in groups
Ask the groups to agree on “what they’d do next”
