A, Endoscopy reveals a semi pedunculated elevation covered by normal mucosa except for a small centrally located ulcer. The inflammatory fibroid polyp is located in the prepyloric region. B, Photomicrograph of the cut section of the endoscopically removed specimen. A nonencapsulated lesion with intact overlying mucosa is present in the deep mucosa and submucosa. In this section, the ulceration is not visualized.
